NEW - Fantastic Offer - Learn to Scuba Dive, TWO for the price of ONE

When you join a BSAC course you will see that diving skills are taught progressively so that each new experience is built upon step by step. Following basic training in the safety of a swimming pool or protected area, students soon complete their first open water dives to achieve Ocean Diver certification. This progression continues to Sports Diver and beyond, where open water skills and techniques are further developed and experience gained.

We can also tailor courses for disabled divers.

BSAC Ocean Diver

This course provides you with the essential knowledge and skills needed to prepare for open water diving. Learning to dive is all about learning to use your equipment properly and safely. The Ocean Diver training course concentrates on preparing you for this in the safety of a swimming pool or sheltered water and then introducing you to open water in a controlled and safe manner. This also gives you the opportunity to practice safety skills in the company of a qualified instructor or experienced diver.

This can be run over either 5 days or 6 evenings + 1 weekend. The theory and pool sessions will provide you with the essential knowledge and skills required and this, together with our drysuit familiarisation module, enables you to go out into open water and confidently do the 4 dives and skills required to complete the course. This qualifies you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 20 metres.

The use of all equipment (except mask, fins and snorkel), a drysuit familiarisation course and the Ocean Diver pack are included in the cost. Overnight accommodation is usually required and will be arranged by your Instructor and charged at cost.

BSAC Sports Diver

In Sports Diver training, the emphasis is on building a sound foundation of open water diving skills and experience through a series of structured practical lessons. Once you have gained this open water experience with a qualified instructor, you are ready to take part in dives with other Sports Divers or those of higher grades.

This is conducted over 3 full days or 3 evenings + 1 weekend. It builds on the knowledge and skills attained in the Ocean Diver course as well as including further diver rescue skills and decompression stop diving knowledge incorporated in the further 4 open water dives. On completion of these dives, your capabilities will qualify you to dive to 35 metres in this country and abroad. The use of all equipment (except mask, fins and snorkel), a drysuit familiarisation course and a work pack are included in the cost. Overnight accommodation may be required and will be arranged by your Instructor and charged at cost.

Skill Development Courses

The BSAC provides a wide range of Skill Development Courses for divers at varying levels of proficiency.
